Summer of Surf 2016 is gearing up to showcase all of the action from major surf carnivals throughout the summer across six of the best beaches in Australia.
In a recent partnership announcement, Kennards Hire has jumped on board as the Summer of Surf’s Official Hire Partner, and is excited to introduce what will quickly become the iconic Kennards Hire SuperBox.
The Kennards Hire SuperBox marks the first time the Summer of Surf series will be able to provide a truly premium interaction for spectators. Located directly on the beach, front and centre, raised atop the action, this one of a kind premium VIP area will offer guests the opportunity to engage with the Summer of Surf like never before.
Matt Hardy, Kennards Hire General Manager, Queensland, identified Summer of Surf’s large scale event logistics and strong focus on Aussie family beach culture as the key reasons why Kennards Hire was happy to be involved this summer.
As the Official Hire Partner of the Summer of Surf Series, we are really excited to bring our logistical expertise and equipment know-how to the six events throughout NSW, Victoria and Queensland.
“We see the Kennards Hire SuperBox as a great addition to this year’s series. The exclusive VIP platform will give our customers and guests a unique experience, allowing them to get up close to the athletes and the action,” Matt continued.
The 2016 Summer of Surf is a natural fit with Kennards broader, longer term association with Surf Life Saving Clubs, and Matt is particularly passionate about Kennards involvement with their local Mermaid Beach and Nobby’s Beach SLSC in Queensland.
“Surf Life Saving Clubs are embedded in Australia’s family culture, which is something we consider to be very important to our own Kennards Hire values. We are really proud to support the Mermaid Beach SLSC, particularly their two surf boats, which are an iconic part of traditional surf lifesaving and now used in competition. And, more recently, we have sponsored surf craft boards for the Nobby’s Beach nippers,” Matt explained.
“We also support upcoming local talent. At just 21, Luke Cuff, one of Australia’s youngest up and coming Ironmen athletes is definitely one to look out for this year. Everyone at Kennards will watching and cheering him on throughout the season.”
The Summer of Surf season kicks off at Alexandra Headlands on the Sunshine Coast on Saturday, 22 October. Check out where the Summer of Surf events will be taking place this season at http://www.summerofsurf.tv/ or come down to get involved in the action.
